Developed in conjunction with SIEMENS Mobility, the ITSS WILDCAT or WIreless Long Distance Control And Translation is an onboard and wayside system that supplies traffic signals, civil enforcement messaging and other telemetry to a vehicle wirelessly and vitally over the air. As a standalone unit WILDCAT provides real time, pulse code CAB signals (9 or 18 aspect) to railroad powersets. In the case of transit vehicles upcoming traffic signal status can be supplied to operators. In conjunction with an Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES) on board unit WILDCAT acts as adaptive overlay to provide vital temporary speed messaging, positive geo location and automatic block management. Without the need for track circuits WILDCAT is communications system agnostic utilizing cellular, satellite and terrestrial lie safety network connectivity. In congested areas classic railroad trunked communications are supported or an ITSS propriety wayside system can be deployed. Finally, in the case of powersets that may operate into foreign PTC protected territory, duel equipping locomotives can be avoided without penalty.
